Grain to Glass Glassware Workshop
Want a new, better way to taste beer? Grain to Glass is hosting a Spiegelau Glassware Tasting tonight (January 20) at 7pm. Representatives from Spiegelau will be giving a presentation on glassware details and serving four nice beers in the glasses. You will be able to compare the glasses with standard pint glasses to see for yourself why Spiegelau Glasses are better.
The shape and thickness of glassware affect the taste and aroma of beer. Approved by an expert tasting panel of master brewer and industry professional, this glassware brings out the best in complex craft beers. Spiegelau teamed up with some of the nation’s best breweries to figure out the best way to drink stouts, IPAs, wheat beers, and pilsner.
There are still a few spots available for the event which starts at 7pm. It’s $40 per ticket and you get to keep the glassware. Email Jennifer Helber at jthelber@hotmail.com or click here to get tickets.

Torn Label is primarily a production brewery, but has plans to open a tap room in the future. They tapped their first beers – Alpha Pale, House Brew, and Hang ‘Em High – at Waldo Pizza in December to a welcoming crowd. They are the first Kansas City, Missouri brewery with statewide distribution since Boulevard. Their beers include Alpha Pale (A hopped-up, sessionable pale ale), House Brew (a coffee wheat stout with Sumatran toddy from Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters), Monk & Honey (Belgo-American single brewed with honey from Peculiar, Missouri), Hang ‘Em High (a West Coast-style IPA), and Quadjillo (Belgian Quadrupel brewed with Guajillo chiles)
