Boulevard Celebrates 25 Years
Next Monday marks the 25th anniversary of when Boulevard Brewing Co. sold its first keg to Ponak’s Mexican Kitchen. John McDonald did what many of us dream to do now by creating one of the best brewing companies in the world. From the amazing beers Boulevard produces to community involvement and sustainability initiatives, Boulevard is a great example of what to do when running a business.
After 25 banks rejected the idea back in the late eighties, McDonald went to his father for help. A wise investment as Boulevard has made a huge difference in the American beer resurgence in the last 25 years.
To celebrate their success, Boulevard is having several events over the next week. Check our calendar on the homepage for all of the events. You can’t celebrate an anniversary without a partner, so Boulevard has invited Odell Brewing Company to join. Odell Brewing Company started their company in a converted 1915 grain elevator on the outskirts of downtown Fort Collins, on November 18, 1989, one day after Boulevard sold their first keg. It’s a perfect match! Boulevard and Odell collaborated in the Silver Anniversary Ale (out now), an English Ale with an ABV of 7.3% and 40 IBUs. Odell has also come out with a double version of their flagship 90 Shilling – 180 Shilling, 9.6% ABV.
Congratulations to both Boulevard and Odell for making it to 25 years. Fittingly, my husband and I celebrated our third anniversary at Boulevard around their 18th anniversary in 2007. Please enjoy the album below of photographs from the past 7 years.
