Vine Street Brewing

Put three big dreams into one package and you’re going to have a heck of an amazing thing. That’s just what Vine Street Brewing is going to be. Local homebrewers, Woodie Bonds and Elliott Ivory, have teamed up with former Boulevard Brewing employee Kemet Coleman to realize their dream of opening a brewery.

Vine Street Brewing will be located at 2000 Vine Street in Kansas City, Missouri. It will be in one of the two 150-year-old buildings that were once public works buildings. 2000 Vine is being renovated and will also house a few restaurants, an event space, and offices. There will be a patio space with a beer garden in the back and a green space area beyond the patio.

The brewery will focus on brewing with their seven-barrel brewing system and pouring in their taproom first. They’ll start with the basicsĀ  and when they’ve fine-tuned, they intend to distribute. With their homebrewing past, Vine Street Brewing’s brewers have it in the plans to collaborate with local homebrewers to brew beers to have on tap at the brewery. They intend to keep the pilot system they’re currently using for the homebrewers to use. They’re not shy about experimenting with flavors, too, so expect to see some wild beers.

Beer is a passion for the trio but music is just as important to them. Kemet Coleman has helped plan and implement local music festivals and is a part of the band, The Phantastics. Woodie Bonds hosted the beer fest/music party Hip Hops Hooray. Music will be a big part of the new brewery with live music and festivals.

Vine Street Brewing will open in 2022. They are brewing beers off-site to serve at local events and for family/friends. Try their beers publicly at Pint Path on Saturday, September 25, in North Kansas City.
