Samuel Adams Kosmic Mother Funk to Make Stop in Kansas City

It’s a great time to be in Kansas City!  The Royals are in the World Series, the Chiefs won against a division team, Sporting KC are looking good to make the playoffs, and we have been voted to be the final stop on the Samuel Adams KMF tour!

We beat out cities from 37 states to be named the closing act on this tour.  The dates and locations have yet to be decided, but it will most likely be at the end of November or early December in anywhere from 4 to 22 different area bars.  This will be the first time for Samuel Adams to take their KMF Grand Cru out of their Boston Brewery.  They are half way through their tour and are currently in Washington DC and Philadelphia.

kmfThe Kosmic Mother Funk is a one-of-a-kind Belgian ale that is fermented with Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and other micro-organisms found in the environment of their 150-year-old brewery.  It is aged in large oak barrels for over a year.  KMF is a tart and funk with complex notes of dark fruits, cherry, cocoa, and vanilla that are brought together by a small amount of Belgian candi sugar that also adds a bit of smoothness and hint of sweetness.  With only 9.4 IBUs and a 6.4% ABV, this beer is smooth drinking.
